It depends on the file. PDFs with photos or scanned pages often shrink by 50 to 90 percent. Files that are mostly text are usually already small, so they shrink less.
Which compression level should I choose?+
Recommended works best for most files: much smaller and still sharp. Extreme makes the smallest file, with softer images. Light keeps full quality and only removes waste.
Will the text still be selectable?+
Yes. Compression only changes images inside the PDF. Text, links and layout stay the same.
